Jedi Master Chell Keyon turned to look at the bounty hunter before her. The gleaming armor, the firm grasp he had on his blaster. if he hadn't been sent to kill her, his grasp, and armor, would be elsewhere.
"Don't make me destroy you, Chell," Jango Fett stated with cold eyes, the helmet that normally hid his eyes discarded behind him.
Chell held her lightsaber tightly before her. "You know you can't hurt me, Jango. We've been through too much together." Images of forbidden love past between them, and Chell hoped to the Force that it would be enough to make the bounty hunter see reason.
But all Jango Fett saw was a Jedi.
~~~~~~~~~
"But Chell!"
"No Obi-Wan! I don't care how much you need the practice, I won't play lighsabers with you."
Obi-Wan Kenobi pouted. "But you're the best in the academy."
Just because I know how to handle a lightsaber doesn't mean that I like to show it off." Chell Keyon crossed her arms in front of her and sighed. "Don't you have a padawan you can go beat on or something?"
"Anakin is too predictable." Obi-Wan stated. "All he does is imitate my strokes. He has yet to develop his own techniques."
"He's only sixteen."
"Hense my point. He needs more experience in hand to hand combat." An idea crossed his mind and the Jedi Master smiled.
"Oh no..." Chell took a step back. "Don't even think about it, Kenobi."
"Why not?!"
"I don't saber practice with padawans! After the incident with Padawan Krig, Master Yoda told me that I can't."
"What exactly DID happen between you and Krig?"
Chell lowered her head and her face reddened. However, before she could answer, a strong presence in the Force made itself known.
"Master Yoda!"
Yoda looked at the two Jedi, chuckling from deep within his throat. "Again, you two compete. Never learn, do you, hrmmm?"
"I'm sorry, Master." Obi-Wan bowed to the small green Jedi Master. "I just felt that Chell could prove a good challenge."
"Skills are meant to be taught, Master Kenobi. Lessons in humility they are not for." Yoda nodded at Chell. "Besides, elsewhere is Chell's skills required."
Chell looked at Yoda. "A mission?"
Yoda nodded. "A request, the council has of you. Come, heh, come with me Master Keyon."
Tattoinee. A shuttle landed in a deserted part of the Dune Sea. Cell walked down the ramp of her shuttle, smiling as the sunlight hit her face. Behind her, the pilot droid R1-CH hobbled with his left leg in his hand. "Mistress Keyon! you can't leave me in this condition!"
"Don't blow a gasket, Rich," Chell called to the droid. "It's just a loose screw."
"Loose screw! My whole bloody leg has come off!"
"I'll look for a replacement part in Mos Eisley." She opened the storage compartment of the shuttle and pressed a button. Soon, an R2 droid led a speeder bike down to the Jedi Master.
"But what will I do until then?"
"Hop?"
"Ha Ha, very funny." R1-CH stood stiffly in the rampway.
Chell sighed. "You're no fun, Rich, you know that?"
"I wasn't programmed for humor, Mistress Keyon. Only to drive fast and shoot my blaster straight."
Chell chuckled and closed her eyes. The droid was lifted slightly into the air and his leg was put back into place. A tiny screw appeared from her pocket and floated to the empty hole in R1-CH's leg.
Once in place, the droid was lowered to the ground. He tested his leg and then sagged in relief. Chell straddled the speeder bike and checked her controls. "I'll be in touch."
Boba Fett stood quietly beside his father in the dark shadows of Jabba the Hutt's palace. Jango Fett was a common face in the Hutt underworld. After all, the influence of the mob boss spanned across the galaxy. Money and power was their law, and the found a great form of enforcement in Jango Fett.
But to Boba, Jabba was just a big fat slug. How someone so disgusting controlled so much, the young Fett had yet to understand.
<Jango, I have use for you once more> the Hutt spoke in his native language.
"I am of service," Jango replied. Boba looked up at his father, but the man's face was hidden behind the mask of the Mandalorian armor.
<There is a man, Holgak. he asked for favors from my brother, Zorba, then went and sold him out to the Jedi.>
Boba saw his father stiffen at the mention of the Jedi. he knew that his father had no love for the Jedi, but as to why was still a mystery to the boy.
"Where is Holgak now?" Jango asked/
<Alderran was his last known whereabouts.>
Jango nodded. "And what shall I do once I get him?"
Jabba laughed from deep in his throat. <Whatever you feel is necessary.>
"As you wish." Jango bowed and turned to leave. "Boba."
It was an order. Boba instantly fell in step behind his father. Behind them, Jabba's entourage went back to their entertainment as if the death bounty had never happened. In fact, a scantily clad dancing woman whirled her way in front of Jango and laid her hand on his breastplate.
"Leaving so soon, sugah?" Long dark hair fell into the light brown eyes of the dancer. Boba watched her graceful moves with fascination. She was beautiful.
Jango watched the dancer as well, but any expression he held was hidden behind the steel mask. After a moment of attention, he reached out and grabbed her wrist. "I don't think this is a good idea. My son does not need to linger in such places."
The dancer leaned over and ran a hand along Boba Fett's cheek. "He's a cute kid. Growing up to be just like his father I bet."
Boba smiled. He always felt happy when people compared him to his father. He tried so hard to be like Jango, and one day he would make him proud by becoming the best bounty hunter in the galaxy.
"Boba." Jango looked up at his father and knew that he was staring at him through the helmet. Quickly the young boy wiped the smile from his face and regained his blank face. Then, without a word, the two Fetts walked out, leaving the dancer by herself.
Chell waited until the bounty hunter and his son were gone before she left the main dance hall. Weaving through the hallways of the palace, she soon found an empty room and entered it. There, she opened a crate that had her supplies hidden inside. Quickly she stripped off the dancer clothing and replaced it with a simple black bodysuit and boots.
As she put her hair up into a clip, she rummaged her hand through her bag. She felt the handle of her lightsaber but opted to keep it hidden for now. Jabba obviously had no more love of the Jedi than the Fetts had, so best to keep that one identifying object hidden.
Instead, she pulled a large blaster and strapped it to her hip. Better to have some kind of weapon for show than none at all. She then pulled out a comlink. "I think I have something. Jabba is using a bounty hunter named Jango Fett to track down Holgak."
"Follow this hunter, you must. Get Holgak unharmed is your ultimate goal." The voice of master Yoda was low as so no one would pick up the signal.
"But the bounty hunter has his son with him. What if it comes to blows?"
"Avoid the harm of the child, you must. Beautiful their minds are... healers of the galaxy they can become. But no worry, Master Keyon. Listen to the Force and it will guide you."
"Yes, Master. I will be in contact soon."
She shut off her comlink and shoved it into her bag. Then, placing the sack over her shoulder, she slipped into the shadows and worked on her way back to her ship.
~~~~~~
Jango checked his sensors. The Slave I was still on target for the world of Alderraan. Boba had fallen asleep in the passenger seat, and Jango smiled at him. He tried to make the ride as gentle as he could so not to wake his son.
His son. Sometimes the thought of having a family made Jango consider how his life had turned out. Maybe if his parents hadn't died the way they had... if Jaster Mereel hadn't taken him in... maybe he would have a wife and biological child by now.
but he wouldn't trade the galaxy now for Boba. Raising the young clone alone had been hard at first, but satisfying. And now that their lives were setteling down into a routine, things in jango's life were becoming calm and back to normal.
Still, there were times Jango wished that he could give Boba a complete family. There were some things that only a mother can teach a son.
"Dad?"
Jango turned his gaze back to his son, who was now awake. he looked up at his father with concerned eyes. "Yes Boba?"
"Is something wrong? You've got that faraway look."
"No, everything's fine. How far from Alderaan are we?"
Boba, now fully awake, looked at the sensors. "Five more minutes."
"Strap in then and get the weapons prepped."
Boba nodded and got to work. Yes, Boba was a good son. If there was anything in the galaxy that Jango had done right, it was in his raising of Boba.
~~~~~~
Landing on Alderraan had been easy for the Jedi Master. Her trackers on both Fetts had led her straight to the planet and the part of it that Holgak had been hiding on.
She had been following the Fetts, letting the bounty hunter and his son do all the dirty work while she carefully followed. Soon, they had reached a darker part of the main city, and a bad feeling started to creep into Chell's mind. It wasn't until the Fetts disappeared from her sight did she really begin to worry.
Closing her eyes, she focused her mind onto finding the hunters. She focused mainly on Boba, because a child's mind is easier to access in the Force than an adult's. Getting a grip on him, and able to sense the fear in the child, she rushed forward, hoping to find them before anything could happen.
~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~
Boba walked closer to his father as the streetlights grew fewer and further between. Jango's hand was already resting on his blaster, and Boba held his spare tightly between his hands.
The sound of a crate falling made them stop. Jango pulled his blaster out while pushing his son behind him protectively. He scanned the area, looking for the creator of the noise.
The tip of a blaster dug into Boba's side while a hand grabbed onto his ribs. "DAD!" Boba was able to shout as he was lifted into the air.
Jango Fett spun around and aimed his blaster, only to find that his son had now become a shield between him and the aging Jedi. "Let him go," Jango growled.
"Oh, I don't think so, Hunter," Holgak stated, digging the blaster a bit deeper into Boba's side. "Now drop your weapon unless you want to see your child harmed."
Jango didn't flinch. He knew that if he put his blaster on the ground, both he and Boba would be dead in an instant. He just stared through the sights of his blaster at the blonde Jedi with facial hair.
"I said DROP IT!" Holgak shouted, watching Jango over Boba's head. "Don't think that because I was once a Jedi I won't kill him. Now drop your blaster." Holgak pushed the blaster into Boba's side, causing the boy to cry out in alarm.
Boba's cry got through to Jango, and the bounty hunter lowered his blaster slowly. "There, I dropped it, now let the boy go."
"Remove your helmet."
"Why?"
"I want to see your face, hunter."
Jango saw the fear in his son's eyes and closed his own in defeat. He reached up and lifted the silver helmet from his head and shoulders. He placed it on the ground next to his blaster. "Now what?"
Holgak examined him closely, and then smirked. "You can die."
With the Force, Holgak's actions were faster than Jango could follow. Holgak lifted the blaster from Boba's hands and used it to fire at Jango while firing his own blaster at the hunter. Jango tried to turn and avoid the shots, but he wasn't fast enough. One shot grazed the hunter's leg where the armor didn't cover, while the other grazed the unprotected neck. He fell to the floor in a heap, not moving.
"Dad, NO!" Boba shouted, struggling against the grasp Holgak had on him. The ex-Jedi tucked the wiggling Fett under one arm while aiming his blaster once again at the fallen bounty hunter.
~~~~~~~~
Chell watched from her hiding spot behind the crates as Jango fell to the ground unconscious. Her hand was instantly on her lightsaber as she jumped over the crates that hid her. The silver blade snapped into existence as she deflected the blaster bolts meant to kill the bounty hunter.
"Where did you come from?" Holgak asked, pulling the child back in front of him as a shield.
"The council wishes to speak to you, Holgak. Release the boy now." Chell straddled the downed hunter, using her body as a shield for him.
"The council has no control over me anymore," Holgak stated. "Now stay where you are, Jedi, or the boy dies."
"Don't do this, Holgak. Let the young Fett go and the council will go easy on you."
"Go to Hoth, Keyon. Now stay back."
Holgak backed away carrying Boba Fett along with him as hostage. Chell stayed where she was, and once she sensed that Holgak was gone, she turned to Jango.
The hunter was sprawled on the ground, a burn mark darkening his neck. A dark bruise was also forming on his forehead from where it has connected to the ground.
Shaking her head, she turned off her lightsaber and hooked it to her belt. She then used the Force to pick the bounty hunter up and onto her shoulder. She couldn't leave him alone in the alley and perhaps if they worked together, they would be able to get Holgak and the bounty hunter's son back quickly.
~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Chell lay Jango out onto the shuttles single bunk. Rich, I need
the med
kit! There was no answer, and Chell lifted her head. R 1 C H?
Still no
answer. Knowing that the hunter was safe on her bed, she left the room and
walked to the spare room that R1-CH used to carry his spare parts. She
pushed the door open and flicked the lights on with the Force. Rich,
wheres the med
She stopped short as her eyes adjusted to the scene in front of her. R1-CH
was leaning over a female serving droid, an oil sponge in one hand slowly
tracing over her upper body while she giggled.
Like it like that, huh? Want R1 to buff you till you shine?
Oh yes, the serving droid purred. Buff me, hard.
Chell shook her head. She then cleared her throat loudly. Rich.
Both droids jumped and R1-CH looked at her sheepishly. Its not what
you
think
Chell held her hand up to stop R1-CHs pratter. The bounty hunter
is
injured. Wheres the med kit?
Under the pilot seat.
Chell nodded and left the two droids. She found the kit and went back to
her room. There, she found a very awake bounty hunter aiming his holdout
blaster at her.
Where am I? Jango asked, his eyes locked to the woman in the doorway.
On my ship. Holgak shot you and took your son.
Boba! Jango moved to sit up, then his eyes rolled into the back
of his
head ans he slumped back into unconsciouness. Chell sighed.
Men, she muttered. Never know when to stay down and rest.
She walked
over to the bedside and took the hunters holdout away from his limp wrist.
She then opened the medkit and worked to clean out the wound on his neck.
It wasnt as bad of a burn as it had looked. Jango was lucky. His
instincts, while not able to help him not get hurt, had at least kept the
damage minimal.
Once his neck was treated, as well as a small bacta patch on his head for
the bruise, she turned to his leg wound. Some color crept into her cheeks
at the thought of where the wound lay and how she would have to treat it.
Dont be afriad now, Keyon, she told herself. Its not like you havent
seen that part of a male body before.
Taking a deep breath, Chell knelt down beside his leg and probed the wound.
She sighed, realizing that she couldnt treat it through the armor. She
gritted her teeth and used the Force to unlatch the leg protectors from the
armor. With them loose, she removes the armored pants from the hunter.
My, my, my
seems that Mister Hunter likes the feel of cold steel against
his skin, Chell chuckled to herself and she looked for something to cover
Jangos masculinity.
She set to work on cleaning out the laser blast and treating the infection
that had started to lay in from the metal rubbing against the wound. She
let her fingers nimbly work the area, touching the skin softly. In the back
of her mind, she started to think very un-Jedilike thoughts. But Im human,
so sue me Master Yoda.
I can dress that wound myself, if you dont mind.
Chell jumped and stared up at the bounty hunter who stared down at her.
His gaze was stern but curious. No thanks, no appreciation
just the look
of a bounty hunter. Its not that bad of a wound. Your neck was much
worse.
Jango reached up to where a bacta patch was now covering his neck wound.
Who are you?
Chell bit her tongue. She had a feeling that if she told the hunter that
she was a Jedi, there would be problems. After all, an ex-Jedi was now the
kidnapper or his son. Im Chell, and thats all you need to
know.
Jango nodded and sat up a bit. He saw the towel and let the edge of his
lip smirk up. Well, what do you gain form helping me then, Chell?
Chell left the bacta patch on Jangos thigh and sat back. You think
that
the Hutts are the only ones who are after Holgak?
I would think mercenary work would be above that of a dancing girl.
Chell raised an eyebrow. How
?
Your touch. Jango looked up at her, a smirk fully in place. Firm
but
gentle. Something a person would remember.
She shook her head. Im going to see how my tracker is working and
get
going on Holgaks trail. Youre welcome to join me if you want.
Jango finished with the wound and looked around the room. I work alone
where are my pants?
Chell chuckled. She picked up the armor plated pants and tossed them onto
the bed. Well, hunter, unless you have a tracking device planted on your
son and Holgak, then I would suggest that you consider a short term
partnership.
Without waiting for an answer, she walked to the cockpit.
~~~~~~~~
Chell was sitting at the tracking screen for about five minutes when she
sensed the bounty hunter behind her. How did you get a tracker on my son
without my notice? he asked.
Chell didnt look up form her screen. Same as how I got one on you.
Theres a tracker on me too? There was a pause, and Chell could
image
the hunter giving his armor a quick look over. Where?
Center of chest plate. She smiled at the screen, then turned around
to
find Jango running his fingers over the metal. You wont find it.
How?
Chell shrugged. My touch is more than just gentle. She turned back
to
the screen. Holgak hasnt left Alderraan yet. The signal hasnt
moved for
the past
she looked at the location log,
twenty minutes.
More than
likely its his safehouse, or ship.
She heard the movement of armor on armor, and turned to find the hunter
walking away from the cockpit. She stood and followed. Where are you
going?
To find my son. He started down the ramp, looking left and right
in case
anyone saw him.
And how are you going to do that? Chell asked.
Youre not the only one with a tracker on my son. Jango looked
over his
shoulder and flashed her a rare amused grin, then walked away.
Chell leaned against the doorway of the ship, smiling as well. She watched
the bounty hunter walk away, knowing that he really wasnt going to be
as
far away from her as he thought he was.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Boba Fett sat on the ground of the warehouse floor. It had only been an
hour since he had watched his father get shot, but it seemed like a lifetime
ago. He had watched the sun set from the tiny window too far out of reach
along the wall, and now the only light that was in the room came from the
tiny crack under the door that sepeartaed him from this room and freedom.
He was curled up in a ball, his arms wrapped around his knees as he watched
the door. It did no use to pound on it
no one listened. Yelling and
screaming only resulted in a sore throat. What would dad do?
Boba wiped a tear away from his cheek at the thought of his father. He
didnt even know that his father was dead or not. He still couldnt
imagine
that the gun in his hands had actually fired at Jango. But it had
he had
felt something make his finger squeeze the trigger. And he could see the
red bolt coming from the blaster and hitting his father
Bright light flodded the room as the door opened. Boba squinted against
the light and saw the aging blonde Jedi staring at him from the door,
blaster aimed on the child. Get up.
Boba bit his lip. What would dad do in this situation
he would obey until
he found his escape. Obediently, Boba stood.
Were leaving. Lets go. Holgak waved the blaster for
Boba to exit the
room. Dont do anything stupid or I will kill you. He turned
and walked
away from the door.
Boba followed, but kept his senses alert.
~~~~~~~
Jango ran along the streets, a tracker in his hands. He had been able to
get a location on his son the second that he had gotten back to the Slave I,
but within minutes the signal had started to move. Fearing what might be
happening to his child, he had taken off running.
As he arrived to the location, he saw an YT-1300 lifting from a platform.
NO! he shouted, and leaned over to aim his missile launcher at the
ship.
The missile took flight, but exploded on the shields of the Corellian craft.
Jango stood there and watched as the ship took flight into the upper
atmosphere and disappeared into a pinpoint of light. He didnt move until
he heard at the sound of a shuttle landing beside him.
FETT!
Jango turned and saw the ramp lower on the shuttle he had walked away from
only an hour back. Chell was in the cockpit, waving for him to get in. He
looked up at the disappearing ship, then ran for the shuttle. As he ran up
the ramp it started to close behind him, and he ducked to keep from bumping
his head on the doorway.
Almost instantly the shuttle took off, and Jango stumbled his way to the
cockpit. He grabbed onto the doorway as Chell aimed the shuttle up after
Holgaks ship.
Cant you fly faster? Jango stated, seeing that the distance
between the
ship and shuttle was not changing. There would be no time for them to catch
Holgak before he jumped to hyperspace.
Why? So I can shoot your son out of the sky? Chell kept her focus
on
the ship in front of her. Im going to stay on his tail and get his
hyperspace coordinates, then well follow him and confront him when we
get
planetside.
As she spoke, Holgaks ship leaped forward, then vanished into hyperspace.
From the seat next to her, R1-CH stared at the readouts. Obroa-Skai,
the
protocol droids voice announced.
Strap in, Hunter. Chell typed in a few coordinates, then the shuttle
jumped to follow.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jango paced the hallway of the shuttle. He had been on the shuttle for a
half a week already. To his disappointment, when they had arrived at the
Obroa-Skai spacelanes, instead of seeing Holgaks ship getting ready to
enter atmosphere, all that was left was an ion trail leading to a new
hyperspace jump.
Now, on the jump to their next spot, Zhar, Jango could feel his anger
rising. It was a long jump, going from one end of the galaxy to another.
He needed to do something to get his energy out. He needed to punch
something, preferably the Jedi who held his son captive on the same long
jump.
Chell had to laugh as she watched the hunter, feeling his pent up energy
flowing through him. Come on.
Jango looked up. What?
She smiled and walked down a few feet and opened one of the cargo hold
doors. Inside
Jango whistled through his teeth. A workout room.
Chell leaned against the doorway, smiling. I hate long hyperspace jumps
too.
They walked into the small workout room. Jango saw the combat dummie and
instantly went over to it, punching it square in the face. Chell just
chuckled, and the hunter turned. Yes, now I feel better.
Care to spar? Chell reached up and grabbed a set of boxing gloves.
Just to keep the muscles going?
Jango nodded and accepted a pair of gloves from Chell. Wearing only his
jumpsuit, he unzipped the top and let tied it around his waist, letting the
white undershirt show.
Chell nodded and got into a ready position. They nodded to each other,
then started. Jango tested her by throwing the first punch, but Chell
danced away, laughing. Is that the best youve got, hunter?
Jango smirked and tossed another punch. And then the combat dance was on.
Blows and quips were exchanged at a rapid fire rate. Chell could sense
Jango in the Force, and her reactions were maybe only half a step ahead of
the heightened abilities of the bounty hunter.
Her eyes, however, drifted elsewhere. She couldnt help but let her eyes
linger on the muscles of the hunter. The white shirt, now drenched in sweat
from the workout, shone under the flourescent lights of the cargo hold. Her
mind drifted back to all the times she had fought with the other padawans
while she was training, then back to Krig
Jango noticed that Chells attention had wandered and took advantage of
it.
He spun around and swiped her feet out from under her, and watched as she
fell to the ground. Point and game, he said victoriously.
Chell smiled up at him from the floor, then quickly wrapped her legs around
his and pulled him down on the ground as well, her body laying on top. So
sure are you? One victory does not mean that the war is over.
The hunter smirked up at her. Really? I didnt even know a war had
begun.
Chell chuckled. Well, if we kept on fighting, it could have turned into
an epic battle. We both seem to be on even grounds combat-wise.
If were even, then why are we on the floor? he quipped.
The floor is even ground too.
Jango nodded. He stared up at Chell, watching her face as her eyes went
unfocused again. He leaned up to look closer into them. He didnt know
when his lips touched hers
And neither knew why the other didnt pull apart.
~~~~~~~~~~
For a moment, Chell felt she was back five years; on the floor with Krig
after a sparring session. He had taken to knocking her down, then tickling
her until they kissed. Sometimes the kissing led to more. And one day it
led to Mace Windu walking into the combat room when things were not at all
Jedi-like.
Then she felt the difference in the lips. The strength, the hardness
this
was not a padawan. She opened her eyes to see Jangos face next to hers,
his lips caressing hers in a passion that she had never felt before. The
Force swirled in her mind, and while half her mind cried out to stop, the
other half didnt want to
Stop
she muttered, pushing herself away. Chell quickly stood
and fixed
a strand of hair that lay on her face.
Jango stared up at her, then sat up. He just stared at her. She shook her
head. Why doesnt he say anything! Im going to check on our
progress,
she said quickly, then left.
The bounty hunter just stared.
~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~`
She stared at the computer readout. Somehow, Boba was behind them now.
And that meant that Holgak was too. She cussed a few words and pulled the
shuttle out of hyperspace immediately.
Whoa, a voice came from behind them. Something wrong?
RICH! she shouted, pulling up coordination maps. She ignored the
presence behind her.
Jango sat down in the navigation seat and pulled up the space maps quickly.
Where are we?
I have a droid to do that, she stated.
Hes in the back on recharge. He wont get here in time. Now
where are
we?
Chell growled, but quickly flushed her irritation out of her with the
Force. Two hundred parsecs from the Zhars outer systems.
Jango focused the map and Chell looked over his shoulders. He pulled a
small device out of his pocket and twirled it around to match their
positioning with the map. Theyre near Corellia, he announced.
But how? She looked at the map closer.
There. Jangos finger brushed along a dotted line. Its
a fairly new
trade route. Called the Corellian Run. We had to pass over it.
Holgak probably pulled out of the jump in the lane and turned, taking
off
before we passed through the same space. She grabbed her flight stick
and
turned the ship quickly around. Give me coordinates to Corellia.
Jango quickly recited them, and soon they had made another jump towards
Corellia. Chell rubbed at her eyes and sighed. Weve lost time.
It wasnt your fault.
Chell turned to look at Jango. She thought he would be furious at her for
not paying attention, for not knowing an obvious ploy and taking almost a
day out of their way. Something wasnt right. Yes it is. I should
have
known about the spacelane. If I had, I would have pulled out and rechecked
the trackers.
Yes, you should have. Jango stated simply. But you didnt
know.
Therefore it was not your fault.
Calculated. Simple. Chell stood and walked out of the cockpit. I should
have known, she stated as she walked out. I shouldnt have let myself
get
distracted.
~~~~~~~~
Jango watched her leave in confusion. He knew he should be mad at her. He
had every right to be. Yet in his mind, he had rationalized a reason why
not to be. He could yell at Boba for not keeping his room clean, yet he
found that he couldnt reprimand Chell for losing track of his only son
who
was in the hands of a Jedi who would kill him on a whim.
How in the nine Corellian hells did his priorities suddenly shift?
He sat back and stared at the stars as he pondered this.
Did someone call me?
Jango turned to see the protocal droid standing in the doorway. Your
mistress. We got off track, but I helped her take care of it.
She actually let you nav? R1-CH shook his head. Normally she
wont let
anyone but herself at the controls. She only puts up with me cause Im
not
a life form.
Shes that much in control? Jango raised an eyebrow.
Oh, you know Je
. R1-Ch faked a power surge to keep from finishing
the
word. You know genetics
women especially.
No, I dont. Jango sighed. I normally avoid them at all
costs.
R1-CH sat in the pilot seat and faced the hunter. My databanks are not
complete then. Ive come to know that genetic men are always interested
in
women.
Women are distractions.
So are children, yet you have one, no?
Boba is different. Hes not like other children.
R1-CH nodded. Thats because he is your own.
Jango went to reply, but stopped. The droid had a point. He shook his
head. Maybe.
And maybe when you find a woman that is your own, they wont be a
distraction either. The droid stood up and tested his arm, and it
squeaked. Excuse me.
R1-CH got a few steps when Jango asked, Rich, why doesnt your mistress
have a man?
The droid turned around, and if he could smile, Jango was sure he would
have been. Because to her, men are also distractions.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Chell sat on the edge of her bed, working to get into a Jedi meditative state. She had to stop letting the bounty hunter throw off her focus. She was in this mission to capture Holgak and bring him back to the council for judgement of his crimes. Just because the Fett child had been kidnapped, that did not change he objective, did it?
She reached out through the Force and felt the strong presence of Jango from where he was camping in the back room with R1-CH. What was it about this hunter that caught her attention no matter how she tried to focus?
Her mind slipped into her meditation then, hoping to find her answers from the Force.
~~~~~~~~
Jango sat up in the cot he had fashioned in the droid's room. R1-CH was piloting the shuttle now at night, as so the two humans could sleep. But his mind wasn't letting him. And it was all because of the woman in the next room.
Why was she still in his mind? Why couldn't he get his focus past her? He should be focusing on his son, the one who he strived to fight for and protect. Right now his mind should be on Boba. so why could he not get Chell from this thoughts?
Sighing in defeat, he stood and walked out of the room, walked down the hall and knocked on the closed door. They needed to talk.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Chell jumped at the knock on the door. She felt the hunter outside and took a deep breath. "Enter," she stated, unfolding her legs from under her.
Jango entered, his jumpsuit top hanging around his waist, his chest bare. "We need to talk."
"I know." Chell stood. "I'm sorry for losing your son."
"Not that," Jango stated. "I want to know what's happening here."
Chell raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"
"Between us. You and me. We're both distracted, and it's because of each other. I personally don't like being distracted, so I need to know why this is happening."
She crossed her arms. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"You do too. Ever since we kissed in the combat room, we've both been acting strange."
"We kissed? Excuse me, but it was you who kissed me."
"I didn't see you resisting in any form or fashion." Jango smirked. "In fact, I think you might have enjoyed it."
Chell's jaw dropped. "Why I never. get out of my room."
Jango shook his head. "In fact, from the color of your cheeks, I'm sure you enjoyed it."
"Get out of my room now." She knew she could use the Force to push him away, one tiny push and he would be out the door on his behind and slam the door in his face. But she didn't.
"You don't want me out of your room."
I don't want him out of my room.
"You want me to stay here."
I want him to stay here.
He walked closer and wrapped his arms around her, then leaned down and kissed her deeply on her lips. Her arms snaked around his shoulders, and before she was lost in the passion, Chell wondered where the bounty hunter had learned the infamous Jedi Mind Trick.
Jango lay Chell back onto the bed, his lips still attached to hers. Her fingers played in his hair while he worked to taste the sweetness of her lips. He let his tongue dart into her open mouth, swirling it around hers in a series of slides, flicks and caresses. Chell moaned and let her tongue match his in the dance.
His hands started to wander, and he reached into her finely woven tunic, brushing her breast with his palm. He massaged it gently, leaning his head up to watch Chell's face as his thumb flicked over her hard nipple. His other hand roamed down to her hip and pulled the shirt tie open. The pulled the front flap of the tunic aside, opening her chest to his view. "You're beautiful," he whispered, then leaned down to suck on the hard nipple under his hand.
Chell moaned, pressing her body up into Jango. Her hands roamed his back, down to his backside, which she squeezed as a ripple of pleasure went from her breast to the rest of her body. Then she moved the hand forward, finding stone in his pants. She ran her fingers along the bulge, and felt Jango moan onto her breast, sending shivers through her own body.
Jango switched breasts, letting his tongue swirl around the dark circles of the tip, then nibble on the nipple for only a moment before kissing it. Chell let a deep purr escape from her throat, and Jango smiled at this. He let his tongue trace a line from her nipple up to her throat, where he sucked on the pulse point. While he sucked there, his hands worked to open her drawstring pants.
Once he was successful, he started the long path down her body, tracing a line from throat to navel with his tongue. He went slowly, carefully, his hands running along in sync down her ribs. He ran his tongue around her navel, then pulled her pants down as his tongue went lower to the revealed wonders.
Chell jumped as Jango let his tongue flick over her clit. Her training screamed for her to stop, but again she pushed the thoughts away. Master Yoda had warned his students that there was no such thing as attachment, as possession, in the Jedi Order. Jedi could not marry, could not have relationships. Well, Master Yoda, you never said anything about just having sex. Her mind satisfied, she lay back and closed her eyes to the wave of pleasure Jango's tongue was sending through her.
Jango slid his tongue around Chell's moist slit, his lips sucking up her juices as if he was a dehydrated man on Tatooine. He could feel Chell shivering, her hips pushing herself up into his face. He let his fingers run up and down her thighs as he sucked, then used them to hold her down as she reached and surpassed her first orgasm peak.
Her screams of pleasure echoed in the room, and Jango lapped up the juices the flowed from her. As her spasms slowed, he kissed her clit gently, then looked up at her eyes. Chell smiled down at him, her hands reaching to play in his hair.
He pulled himself back up to her and kissed her deeply on the lips. She could taste her juices on his lips and instantly wondered what he would taste like. Her hands drifted downwards to the rock again, but her deft fingers worked the push his flightsuit away.
"What are you..." Jango asked, then found himself on the flat of his back, Chell's naked body stretched over him. She placed a finger on his lips and hushed them with a kiss, then started on her own exploration downwards. She spent moments on his nipples, giving each one a lick and a nibble, but her mind wanted to suck on something more substantial.
She slid her body down until she was staring at his throbbing member eye to eye. Her hands pulled the rest of his flightsuit off as her lips gently kissed the base. Jango closed his eyes and moaned as her tongue licked up along the underside, then took it into her mouth slowly.
Chell let her tongue explore the member in her mouth, running along side it as she slowly sucked and pulled it in and out of her mouth. Her hands gently caressed his ball sac, and Jango gripped the bedsheets. "Chell... I can't... oh sith... please..." he muttered, his hips pushing himself deeper into her mouth.
But the Jedi Master was not done yet. She slowly pulled him from her mouth, her teeth gently scraping along the hard shaft. When she reached the head, her tongue circled around the tip, her circles becoming faster and faster until she flicked his tip and blew hot air across it.
A grunt escaped Jango's throat, and he jumped to his feet in an instant. He picked Chell up from off the floor and threw her back onto the bed. She laughed at his impatience, then moaned as he spread her legs before him. He put a finger into her slit, teasing her and making Chell moan. Then, removing his finger, he positioned himself to enter her.
As the hunter pushed his hard member into her, Chell cried out. He was bigger than she had ever felt, or dreamt. As he slowly started to withdraw, she body craved for him to come back. When he did, she cried for more. His rhythm sped up, and her cries matched his as they both came together.
Spent, Jango lowered himself down on top of her, his member still throbbing inside of her. He kissed her forehead while she stared into his eyes. Finally something clicked in the back of his mind, and he pushed himself up and out of her. "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to...I mean..." he blushed and sat on the edge of the bed.
Chell sat up. "What?"
"I came here to talk. But..." He sighed.
Chell leaned over his shoulder and kissed it. "You got distracted."
"Yes."
"If you didn't notice, so did I."
Jango turned to look at the naked woman beside him. "I still should not have done it."
Chell shook her head. "What's done is done." And I wouldn't mind to do it again.
Jango stood. "I can't." He walked to the door. "Goodnight."
Chell watched him walk out, shutting the door behind him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next morning, Jango avoided Chell for all his worth; which is extremely
hard on a shuttle, but he managed to do it just the same. Chell, of course,
did not approach him either. They had done something last night that while they
weren't ashamed of it, it still should not have happened. They had lost their
focus, and both could only hope that it didn't come to effect the outcome of
this mission.
It was lucky then that by day's end, they came out in the Corellian system.
Chell sat at the controls, bringing the shuttle into the system. The sensors
showed that Boba and Holgak were on Corellia, and had been there for about a
day already.
"Any luck?" Jango asked from the doorway. He was strapping on a few last pieces of armor to his jumpsuit.
"Your son is there, and from my sensors he's doing alright."
"Same on mine." Jango bent over to snap a clasp on his thigh. Chell turned around to stare out the cockpit. "We should have them in a few hours."
She nodded. Jango stood in the doorway for a moment, then exited. When he was gone, Chell picked up her hypercom and dialed. "Master Yoda?"
"Master Keyon. News for us you have?"
"Yes Master. We're landing on Corellia. Holgak still has the young Fett child, and I fear for the safety of the child, as well as Holgak."
"Explain your fears, you do not need. Fear the hunter will harm Holgak. Don't fear. Reinforcements sent, they have. Find you when needed, they will."
"Jango doesn't trust Jedi, Master. If they reveal themselves, they will cause more chaos."
"Know you're a Jedi, does he?"
"No Master." Chell hung her head. "I thought it best kept secret."
There was a pause, as if Yoda was considering the course of events. "Careful you must be. Your emotions, they are clouded. Worry about mission, child, and hunter you are. Focused you must be in order to succeed."
"I know, Master. And I will not fail you."
"Believe in the Force, Master Keyon. It will guide you."
Chell closed the connection to the Jedi Temple, then leaned back in her seat. Trust in the Force. But what happens when the Force was telling her to act in a way that was against the wills of her masters?
~~~~~~~~~~
The ramp lowered, and Jango walked out first, his helmet the only par of his
armor missing, having been left behind on Alderaan. He looked at the tracker,
then up the ramp. "Good spot. He's only a few blocks away."
"He probably knows we're here, so we have to move fast." Chell ran
down the ramp and it closed behind her.
"Stay with the ship," Jango ordered, checking his blaster setting. "I can handle this from here."
"No way, hunter. I want Holgak too."
"You can have what's left of him when I'm done." Jango took off.
Chell growled. Her fingers played with the lightsaber that she had hidden in the sleeve of her tunic. Please don't make me hurt you Jango... She gave him a head start, then chased after him.
~~~~~~~
Holgak stood in the center of the living room of the small apartment. "What do you mean Dooku won't see me now? I'm in trouble, and I need the new ident dhip NOW!......... No, I can't wait until tomorrow. I have a stupid brat here that I need to get rid of and Jango Fett on my tale, as well as some smart ass Jedi....... No, the council doesn't know I'm here....."
He continued to storm around the room, all the while Boba Fett watched him with keen eyes. He sat in the corner of the room, his arms tied together. And he watched. Holgak's pace was sporadic, but there was a rhythm. After he passed the kitchen counter, he walked down the hallway towards the bedroom... and away from the balcony door. If he timed it just right....
"No, I won't be put off just cause Dooku thinks he has more important issues. He wanted this done, andnow he had better help me get out of it..." He turned his back on the bounty hunter's son and walked down the hallway.
Boba instantly jumped to his feet. He ran for the balcony door and threw it open. Suddenly, sounds from outside filtered into the room, but Boba was already on the balcony looking down. He had to get there somehow...
"No you don't..." Boba felt a hand grabbing his shirt collar. Holgak stood next to him, lifting the young child into the air. "Get back in here otherwise I'll throw you over the side."
"Do it and my father will hunt you down until there's nothing left of you but space dust," Boba stated.
"I doubt that, child."
~~~~~~~~
Jango heard a familiar voice and looked up to see Holgak holding his son in the air above a blacony. He grited his teeth and pulled out a blaster, aiming it at the ex-jedi. He fired off two shots, and grunted in acknowledgement as one cleanly flahsed across the jedi's shoulder. He then hid as blaster bolts fired down at him, while Holgak dragged Boba back inside. He had to get up to that balcony.
His fingers grabbed his rocket pack activator handle.
~~~~~~~~
Holgak pulled the Fett child back into the room and slammed the balcony door shut with the Force. "They found me. I can't believe they found me!"
"My dad is the best hunter in the universe!" Boba stated, struggling to get free. "He'll always find me!"
"And you had better hope he finds you alive."
"Oh, he will, if I have anything to say about it..."
Holgak turned to see Chell standing in the doorway. "How did you get here?"
"Your yelling was more than enough of a clue." Her blaster was aimed at his sternum.
"Try anything and the Fett child dies."
"Kill him and you won't live long enough to use your Force to save yourself." Jango stated and he landed on the blacony, exhust leaving his rocket pack.
Holgak growled. He was caught between Jango and a Jedi. He looked down at the child in his arms, then let out a roar and threw Boba at Chell with all his strength, then turned to run at Jango. He used the Force to shove the bounty hunter aside, then made to leap from the balcony.
A flash of hot pain cut across the dark Jedi's neck. He lost his balance and
fell forward, hitting his head on the balcony. The world spun, then Holgak's
world went black.
~~~~~~~~~
Jango stared impassively at the ex-jedi on the floor. He then turned and looked at Boba, who was safely in Chell's grasp while she untied his wrists. He quickly strode to his son and knelt down to hug him. "Are you ok, son?"
"I'm fine, Dad. I was brave."
"Yes, you were." Jango put his son down. "Thank you, Chell."
"Not a problem." Chell looked at Holgak. "I'll take him from here."
Jango's eyes knitted. "You? I have a bounty on him."
"My employers won't let me give him up to you."
"I have a job to finish."
"Dad?" Boba inturrupted. He remembered seeing Chell with the lightsaber back on Alderaan, and he needed to warn his father about her.
"Not now Boba." Jango stared at Chell. "Don't try to cross me."
"I'm not crossing anyone. I'm just taking what I came here for."
"Dad..."
"NOT now, Boba!" Jango pushed his son behind him. "I'm taking the Jedi and that's final." He turned and walked towards Holgak.
"I don't think so." Chell used the Force to make herself jump over Jango and Boba, and she stood between the hunter and Holgak. She pulled out her lightsaber and let the humming blade show her true intention.
"Jedi..." Jango hissed. he pushed Boba aside and aimed his blaster at Chell.
"Turn around now Jango and take your son home. This is official Council business."
"Don't make me destroy you, Chell," Jango Fett stated with cold eyes.
Chell held her lightsaber tightly before her. "You know you can't hurt me, Jango. We've been through too much together." Images of forbidden love past between them, and Chell hoped to the Force that it would be enough to make the bounty hunter see reason. But all Jango saw was a Jedi.
Please don't do this Jango...
The bounty hunter stared down at his son, then at the downed dark Jedi behind Chell. He stood up tall and walked closer to her. Chell held her stance, but moved her saber slightly as so the blade did not disect him. Their eyes were locked.
Then Jango moved his hand. He reached around quickly and grabbed Chell around her back, pulling her close to him. His lips met hers and he kissed her deeply. Chell opened her eyes in shock, then melted into the kiss, shutting off the lightsaber and wrapping her arms around Jango's neck.
Their kiss was deep, passionate. The uncomfortable silence between the two lovers had been broken, and the longing for the past day played through their bodies within an instant.
An instant longer than it took for the blaster bolt to enter Chell's back.
Time moved in fast forward. Chell fell limp into Jango's arms. The bounty hunter stared over her head as the bounty hunter aimed the blaster at Jango now. A purple blade came out of nowhere and disected Holgak's arm before he could fire. Mace Windu stood on the balcony, his saber aimed at Holgak.
"What's happening?" Jedi Knight Krig Nyrtome asked, running through the door. He saw Chell in Jango's arms and ran to her.
"Holgak shot her," Jango stated, laying her on the ground gently.
Krig knelt down beside her and examined Chell. Her eyes fluttered open. "Krig?"
"Yeah, it's me..." He examined the exit wound of the blaster in the center of her chest, then quickly looked at Jango, who's armor had a scorch mark.
Windu made Holgak stand, checking his burn mark. "How bad is she?"
"She needs bacta."
Boba Fett snuck over and leaned over his father's shoulders. "Is she going to die?"
"No," Jango stated, standing and holding his son close. "The Jedi will take care of her. Let's go."
"Jango..." Chell called out weakly.
Jango Fett looked down at Chell, her arm reaching out to him. He pursed his lips, then turned his back. "There is no place in my heart for a Jedi."
Boba stared at the pain on his father's face, and as he was dragged out of the apartment by his father, he took a look back at the tears streaming down the woman's cheek.

Epilogue
Chell sat on the balcony of the Jedi Temple, her hands protectively over her
stomach. She did not want to believe what the medics had told her. It wasn't
possible. It couldn't have happened. IT WAS JUST ONE TIME! She closed her eyes
as she felt the presence behind her. "I am guessing that you heard."
Master Yoda stood beside her at the balcony, looking up at her. "The medics
have told me, yes." "I have shamed the order." "Disappointed
we are, yes. Shamed? No. The wants of a woman, etched in blood before order
they are." Chell looked out at the stars. "What will happen to me
now?" "Decisions you must make. Leave the Order? Find the hunter,
raise child? Give the child away?" "I can't give away my son."
She knew it was a boy. She could sense the tiny life in her stomach. She also
could sense that the child took after his father. He would not be a Jedi. He
would never be able to touch the Force like his mother could. "The hunter,
will you seek him out?" A tear fell from her eye. "There is no room
in his heart for a Jedi." Yoda nodded. He looked out at the stars. "There
is another."
Chell looked down at Yoda. "Another what?" The tiny master pointed
his walking stick to a particular star. Chell ran the star maps through her
mind. "Corellia?"
"Strange ones they are, Corellian Jedi. Own ideas they have." He smiled
at Chell. "Families they do raise." "But where would I go? No
one is going to take me in with an infant." Yoda chuckled. "Friend
there, I have. Will take care of you. To the Solo family you shall go, and your
son you shall raise." Chell smiled. "My son." Jango's too. Maybe
one day he will find his father. After all, there are some things only a father
can teach their son.
