Only approved characters may participate.
All players must abide by the Content Rules in all posts, both In Character and Out Of Character, or be subject to the consequences listed in the Content section.
In Character (IC) game related e-mails will be marked with the location in the subject. (Example: Yavin IV: Great Jedi Temple or Coruscant: Senate Hall) This ensures that other gamers will know where each character is, and gives time-restricted members the option to read only posts that might concern their character. If the location is a secret, it can be marked vaguely, but it must be labelled. (Example: Imperial Capital, or Intell Stronghold) After the location, members may feel free to add any additional tags, but the location must be included. (Example: Imperial Capital: Time to kick Imperial booty!)
Out of Character (OOC) and Off Topic (OT) posts must be marked as such. All OOC comments should be attached to a gaming post, with the exception of very unexpected withdrawals from the game or Councilor announcements. In that case, a message may be posted to the list that is clearly marked OT or OOC in the heading and which briefly states the problem and the estimated length of game withdrawal. The ATTN subject tag will be reserved for use by the RPG Council ONLY so they can get in touch with the players about game rulings, new rules, and share any other kind of important information. If you need to get in touch with a specific gamer, please mail them off the list. If you need to talk to a large group of people or get random input, invite others to use the Message Board on the RPG site. There is no reason for long and involved OOC conversations on the mailing list. Read the long explanation if you are confused.
Out of character remarks should be limited on the mailing list. If a comment relates to something in the game (Example: I withdraw my last post since so-and-so posted at the same time as I did) or something about the gamer that is important information for other players (Example: I won't be able to post the next week) it should be sent to the list. Otherwise, it should be sent in personal e-mail to the intended recipient or else discussed on the Message Board.
Gameplay is freeform and story-based. Time does not flow at any specific pace, but rather at the rate the gamers of each individual SL progress. Advancement of the game is not turn-based. There is no order to post, and one gamer can post as many times in a row as desired. However, no gamer may control the actions of another player's character without his/her approval, thus an SL may be in effect stuck until one person posts.
Players have one week to respond to posts directed at them before the other interacting players can post again or move on. People were getting impatient to post and frustrated with fellow gamers who were inexplicably absent for long periods of time, so we have established a rule that allows you to continue with your story line after you have waited one week for a reply to your post. After that it will simply be up to the absentee gamer to catch up on their own.
Characters acting illogically, unfairly, or with unearned or unapproved powers or skills will be stopped. If a character is treated unfairly or posts actions that do not make logical sense or could not possibly have happened, posts can be voided or the situation replayed by the Ruling proceedure.
