Here at StarWarsChicks, we try to maintain an atmosphere that will be acceptable to almost all chicks, young and old. Therefore, we ask our members to restrict their writing style and their character's actions and speech to meet the following guidelines in each category. As always, if you are unsure if something is acceptable, it is best to ask.
Violence: Violence should be limited to what is neccessary according to your character and the situation of the game. Descriptions should be limited in details; do not describe every cut, every bit of blood, every twitch of muscle. Your writing should not capitalize on the spectacle of violence. Leave your character, other player characters, and even non-player characters with a bit of dignity.Language: Consider the level of language used in Star Wars films. This means no vulagarity, sexual or anatomical references, and very limited use of swear words. We realize that some characters, especially villains, appear a little silly saying things like "golly," and so we recommend you make up your own expletives. For example, sithspawn, sithspit, nerf herder, or son of a bantha are Star Wars relevant derogatory terms for which you won't get in trouble but which will carry your point.
Nudity: Obviously, there will be no graphic pictures associated with our text game, but also, when describing your character and those around them, please assume they are clothed. Do not describe your character's genitalia in any way, shape, or form.
Sex: Sexually explicit scenes should be dropped entirely. Rape will not occur, no matter the villain's personality or how it is masked. Kissing of face and hands is appropriate, anywhere else is probably not. Touching, petting, licking, etc is not appropriate. Sex can be hinted at, but not directly referred to; it occurs behind closed doors, out of sight, out of mind. We make no distinction between heterosexual and homosexual relationships in this category, thus the rules apply to both. However, if your advances on another player's character (or GM's character, for that matter) make the person uncomfortable, you will be ordered to stop.
The RPG Council will be responsible for reprimanding those players who do not abide by these guidelines and removing the offending post from the eGroups archive. Punishments will be limited to those listed, but will be dealt according to the severity of the offense.
1) A Councilor will send an e-mail message off the list to the offending player, describing the problem and referring them to this information.2) Removal from game for a set period of time, as little as one week, and extending further as the Council sees fit depending on the offense committed and if it is the first offense.
3) The required destruction or retirement of the player's character (with the opportunity to create a new one).
4) Permanant removal from the mailing list.
The punishments can only be enforced on a limited basis due to the fact that we cannot stop a player from creating a new e-mail address and rejoining with a new character. However, if a banned player is found to be participating under another alias, he or she will be removed from the mailing list.
The Council will do it's best, by the methods described above, to maintain an appropriate atmosphere on the gaming list. Transgressions, however, are the fault of the players, and though we discourage problems we cannot maintain complete control of player actions and the results thereof.
