Character Rules

Gamers must create an original character to play in the Star Wars Chicks RPG. No gamer can play Luke, Han, Leia, Mara Jade, or Corran Horn, or any of the other characters from the movies, novels, comics, and short stories. It is also recommended that they not be an exact copy of a Star Wars author's character with a different name. (Why?)

No gamer may play the intimate acquaintance, former lover, relative, or descendent of the canon characters from the movies, novels, comics, or short stories. This means that your character isn't Obi-Wan's lost apprentice, Palpatine's right hand man, Qui-Gonn's lover, etc. (Why?)

Force adept characters will use either the Darkside or the Lightside of the Force. The Star Wars Chicks RPG Council does not recognize the existence of Grey or Shadow Jedi, who are able to use both simultaneously or switch at will. It does, however, accept the "Fallen Jedi," those who were once of the Lightside and were tempted over to the Darkside. (Why?)

The species known as the Yuuzhan Vong will not be welcomed into this game. It is the feeling of the RPG Council that not enough information is available about them at this time to be able to make rulings on them, and they appear to be outrageously powerful - which would be unfair to other players. In the future this may change, but for now they are not recognized in the scope of this game.

Players are allowed to make up species and home planets, but should be prepared to offer a full description of the species and some basic information about the planet. Made-up species may be rejected due to special powers or abilities, but will most likely be accepted no matter what they look like.

Characters should fit reasonably into a Star Wars setting. No crossover characters from other universes (such as Star Trek) will be allowed.

Characters for the RPG must be reasonable and fair. A gamer should recognize the limits of lifespan, age, money, and luck. Characters with outrageous knowledge, ability, or power will be rejected so that no one player becomes the "star," as this is a group game and not a fanfiction devoted to a single person.

Gamers should select a character fit to their own knowledge. A person who knows little about the Force should not attempt to play a Jedi Master, nor should someone who can barely operate a computer play a slicer. Make sure you understand your character's perspective and duties.

One person may only control a maximum of three characters. In addition, in a six month period a player can control a maximum of four different characters. This means that if you make three characters you hate and kill them all off, you're stuck playing just one until the six months has passed. (Why?)
