A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

The next most common problem we have is the result confusion about the time period this game takes place in.

Here in the Star Wars Chicks RPG, it is now twenty-five years after the Battle of Endor that ended the reign of Emperor Palpatine and launched the New Republic into the forefront as a legitimate government. This means that approximately:

47 years ago, Palpatine declared himself Emperor and began the Jedi Purge;
29 years ago, the Battle of Yavin marked the first great victory for the Rebel Alliance;
25 years ago, the bulk of the Empire collapsed when Palpatine died at the Battle of Endor;
22 years ago, the New Republic gained control of Coruscant;
18 years ago, Luke Skywalker formed the Jedi Academy on Yavin IV;
5 years ago, many of the Republic heroes died when the Imperial remnant managed a surprise attack.

This last event is specific to our game. Roughly five years have passed in game since that day, the point at which this RPG splits from the official timeline of events given in the expanded universe of published books and comics.
