I woke up, realizing that I was alone in the cabin. Qui-Gon must have already left and went to meet the captain, I thought to myself. So I got up, got dressed and headed to the captain's headquarters.
When I reached the captain's quarters, I knocked on the door. I heard a small thump and someone hurrying to the door. I waited and waited. Finally, the door opened. It was Qui-Gon.
"Hello Obi-Wan. Hurry in." I got through the door, which Qui-Gon shut very quickly. I didn't know why he was acting that way. I soon found out.
I saw the captain, holding a small box. Last night, Qui-Gon told me about this little box. It held a very powerful weapon. It box was small, so you could hide it. It could destroy a whole population of a planet, but not effect the planet at all. That would be perfect for high rank rulers that want minerals on a planet. It would be perfect for smugglers too.
"Is that... it?" I looked at Qui-Gon. He nodded his head. The captain put it on his desk slowly and carefully. The real weapon was inside the box. Inside the box is a weapon called a Tachyon beam. When you open the box, it wipes out any alien or animal in the area you open the box in, but doesn't kill anything that is touching the box. Also what makes it more powerful, is that the Tachyon beam returns to the box, ready to be used again.
"Will you be taking it with you? I do hope so." The captain looked very scared. Before Qui-Gon could answer, there was a knock at the door. The captain jumped up, franticly running around. I grabbed the box and put it in my tunic, making sure it didn't and wouldn't open up.
Qui-Gon opened the door. It was the co-pilot. He looked startled to see Qui-Gon and me inside the captain's quarters.
"Yes? What do you need?" The captain still had a hint of fear, but most of it hidden.
"Just wanted to inform you that we are entering the atmosphere of Anteewa, sir." He waited for an answer. I put my hand on top of the box. I wanted him to leave, so I can take this thing out of my pocket.
"Thank-you, I will be out in a minute. Dismissed." The co-pilot turned and walked away. When the door closed, I took the box out of my pocket. I handed it to Qui-Gon.
"Yes, we will be taking it. We shall put it in safe hands. Please do not worry." Qui-Gon walked to the door. I bowed and I too went to the door. "Good day captain." With that, Qui-Gon left and I followed.
While we were walking down the corridors, I had to ask Qui-Gon something. It has been bothering me ever since last night.
"Qui-Gon? I have to ask you something. Have you ever kissed someone before?" I looked down at my feet. I didn't want to look at his expression. Surprisingly, I heard him laugh.
"Now, why would you ask a question like that?" I looked up at him. He smiled. "Oh, I see. I did have my experiences. There was this one girl." I heard Qui-Gon sigh. "That is someone I didn't want to lose. I didn't for a while either. 32 years I knew her. Since the Jedi aren't allow to marry, we were only "together". It furiated the Council." I gave my master the You-Defied-The-Council-Again? look. He shrugged his shoulder.
"Trust me, once you love someone, you will go to any extreme. Anyway, as we were "together", we had a child. A girl named Lormana Jinn. She was such a pretty and smart little girl. But, eight years ago, my "wife" had died. It was a life threatening disease. Lormana was so overcome with grief, that she ran away." Qui-Gon stopped talking. I felt bad that I made Qui-Gon remember his dead wife and lost child. I wanted to go back in time and not ask that question. But I knew that I couldn't. We walked down to our cabin in silence. After a while, Qui-Gon spoke. "You can go talk to Yana and tell her our plans. Just don't go talking for the whole day." He smiled at me. I didn't smile back.
"Yes Master." With that, I walked passed our door and knocked on Yana's. I didn't hear anything. Then, the door slid open.
"Oh, hi Obi-Wan. Come in, come in." She went in her room. I walked in and sat down in a chair. "So, what brings you over here?" I told her about my mission and we figured that we didn't need to organize times to see each other. It would only take a little while. I didn't tell her about the Tachyon beam. Qui-Gon said I couldn't tell anyone.
Just then, there was a knock at the door. Yana got up.
"Who is it?" She waited for an answer.
"It is the captain." Yana, then, opened the door, and then sat down.
"We are arriving at Anteewa. You will be leaving with Master Jinn and Obi-Wan first." Then he spoke to me, "Get your things together. Master Jinn will meet both of you at the docking bay." He turned and left.
"Well, I have to go pack. I will meet you at the docking bay." I got up and left.
I met Qui-Gon and Yana by the docking bay in two minutes. This trip would be as long as the trip to Lumanar, or longer. Lumanar was the planet that Qui-Gon and I found Yana.
"Obi-Wan, do you have everything?"
"Yes Master. How far is the capitol building?" The docking bay door opened. I walked outside, behind Qui-Gon, Yana behind me.
"Obi-Wan, pull your hood over your head. It won't take us long." I pulled my hood over. I glanced behind me. I saw that Yana had her head was half facing the ground, half looking at me. I guessed she tried to follow what Qui-Gon was saying. She probably figured if he told me to do it, it's important. This thought made me smile.
Qui-Gon was right. It only took 10 minutes to reach the capital. We were escorted to the palace room. This palace is where the ruler of the planet Anteewa stays, and where many valuables are kept safe and sound. This is why we brought the Tachyon beam to this palace.
The throne room was a grand room, with golden sculptures all around the room and scarlet colored curtains. There in the middle of the room, was a huge throne. Around the throne were many chairs. Sitting in the middle chair was King Tombare.
"Oh, good, you're here." King Tombare greeted with us with pleasure. King Tombare is a Human. The planet Anteewa has many aliens settled on its great land. So, the ruler's species may change. "I hope you didn't have any trouble with the crowds." His eyes stared at Qui-Gon.
"No, we got here fine. We will talk later." He glanced at Yana. "We need a room to stay in. Just for tonight." King Tombare understood what Qui-Gon meant. Qui-Gon explained this to me. I didn't tell Yana about this. Then, I would have to tell her why. She looked at me. She didn't understand why we needed a room. I turned away. I didn't want to give away that I didn't tell her everything.
"Yes, we shall get you a room as soon as possible. Toola," a small alien, with huge eyes, a long nose, and green skin, came over in lightening speed. She had pieces of jewelry all over her body. All of them had gems. She also carried a dagger, the handle covered with jewels of all sorts of colors. I was unfamiliar with this species. I saw that Qui-Gon knew that species, since he watched her very cautiously. "Please show the Jedi and their comrade a comfortable room." She bowed and faced us.
"Follow me." Her voice was like listening to the wind. She, then, turned and headed towards the stairs.
We went up stairs, through hallways, and up ramps. You can easily get lost in the palace. There were so many twist and turns, my head started hurting. Final, we reached our room.
"I hope you will be comfortable here. Just call my name if you need anything." She bowed and left. I faced Qui-Gon, waiting for directions.
"Obi-Wan, you can go around with Yana through the city, looking. Just be back before dark. I will inform you what happened when you come back. Then I must talk to you alone." Qui-Gon headed towards the door and left. I faced Yana, who looked very confused.
"I think you didn't tell me everything that's going on." She sat in a chair. "So, I am guessing that one, you aren't going to tell me what's going on and two, we have to go into the capitol city, looking for whatever you have to look for." I smiled. She was a very good guesser.
"You are absolutely right."
We went through the city, stopping at stores, looking at items. I was in front, with Yana following close behind. Now I knew how Qui-Gon felt. It was different experience. It was interesting, though. I started searching again. I have been looking, on alert, for an alien that was surrounded by the dark ripples of the Dark Side.
What Qui-Gon told me, was that a person, that creature, found out about the Tachyon beam, and wants it. This person knows how to get in and out of the palace in less than 15 minutes. Qui-Gon and I have to find this person, before he gets the beam. Or all will be lost.
With Yana here, we had to changed our whole plans. Qui-Gon now is in charge of giving King Tombare the Tachyon Beam and put it in a safe place. He also has to protect it, until the alien is caught.
My job is to find this person. Qui-Gon wasn't sure if I could handle the job, but I convinced him that I could do it. So, while he is protecting the Beam, I have to look for the creature that can steal it.
"Um, Obi-Wan? Could I talk to you?" I headed towards a dark alley. I made sure no one as there, then I stopped and turned towards her.
"Yes?" I waited for an answer. While I waited, I looked at the sky. It was getting dark. I looked at Yana again.
"I was wandering, could you take me to Coruscant instead? I mean, there is nothing on Lumanar for me. I could get a job, get a good education. I could even become a Senator." She smiled, "You can talk to Qui-Gon about it." She stared at me.
"O.k. I will talk to him about it. Well, it is getting dark and we have to get to the palace." I went back on the street. I will have to tell him that I didn't find him.
All of a sudden, a guy pushed me. I turned around, watching him turn to look at me.
"Hey watch it." The guy had a deep voice. I suddenly felt dark ripples around me. I looked around, looking for the person. I realized that it was the guy. I grabbed for my comlink.
"Qui-Gon, I found him." The man's eyes grew wide. I guess he figured who I was, because he suddenly bolted out of there.
"Come on." I called over my shoulder for Yana. We started chasing after him. We ran for about 20 minutes. Then, he entered a casino. We ran inside.
It was filled with aliens galore. We looked around, looking for the man. We had lost him. I grabbed my comlink, disappointed. Now that he knew Jedi were here, he would go after the Tachyon Beam very soon.
"Now, Obi-Wan, once more, what did he look like?" I had this conversation 5 times, but it was for the good of the planet.
"He was around his twenties. He had a beard, but no moustache. He wasn't really buff. About as tall as you, Qui-Gon, which is 5"6'. He had a deep voice, for any age. He was Human. He had very dark skin, almost brown. I didn't get to see his eyes. They were shaded. He had black hair, that was cut up to his ears." Qui-Gon paced through the room. We were in our room with the Tachyon Beam. The only thing is, we can't keep it in our room. Yana has to sleep in the room. So, the plan was that we have to figure how the guy's getting in, and guard the Beam, to make sure he doesn't steal it.
"O.k. Thank-you. Now, go. I have to think about how he's coming in. Talk to Yana." Qui-Gon sat down in a chair, in deep thought.
"Yes Master." I turned for the door and left. I decided to look for Yana and talk to her.
As I turned a corner, I saw Yana and Toola talking. I headed towards them.
"Hey, you guys." Yana stopped and looked behind her. She smiled, and waved at me.
"Hey Obi. This is Toola. We were just talking. I was telling her about the incident on the ship." She smiled, "I did leave a few details out." I knew what she meant.
"Thanks." As we talked, we got on the subject of Toola.
"So, tell me, why are you wearing all the jewelry?" I guess Yana was thinking the same question as I was. We have a lot of common.
"I love jewelry. I collect all kinds. I have a lot of pieces in my chamber. I collect things, so I can sell them for jewelry. It's been an obsession. I'll do anything for jewelry. And I mean anything. I've loved jewelry my whole life." She stopped, listening for something. I heard something, too. "I must go now. King Tombare is calling me." Before we could answer, she disappeared.
"Well, that was interesting. We better head back," said Yana. We looked around, realizing that we were lost.
"Let's go find Toola. She can help."
"Alright," Yana agreed. We ran the way that Toola exited. We turned a corner and didn't see Toola anywhere. I searched for her through the Force. The Force ran through me. I sensed Yana standing by me, searching for Toola. She looked at me and understood what I was doing. She waited for me to say anything. I let the Force control my senses. I finally sensed Toola down 3 corridors, 1 flight of stairs, and 5 rooms. I opened my eyes.
"Follow me." I let the Force guide me to Toola.
5 minutes later, we reached Toola. We heard her talking and decided to wait. While we waited, I caught some keywords. I decided to listen to what was going on. I realized that it didn't sound like Toola was talking to the King.
"Yes, yes, I know. The Jedi are expecting you tonight. They will waste all their energy tonight that it will be easy for you to get in and out tomorrow night. Don't worry. I'm keeping a close eye on the Beam. That sucker Kenobi told the whole story. He told me all the tricks a Jedi uses. I know what to look for." I couldn't believe it. The person we trusted tricked us. This would be the 2nd time that happened. I hear Yana's breathing behind. She was about to sneeze. I signaled her to leave so Toola wouldn't hear. I just needed to know where the passageway was. Yana wouldn't leave without me. I had to go. I got as much information as I could.
We got barely 5 feet when Yana sneezed. I knew that wouldn't be far enough.
"Go go go go!" I whispered to Yana. We started running as quietly as we could. We didn't stop running for 5 minutes. Even then, we walked fast. We finally reached a hallway that looked familiar. It still took us 5 more minutes to find our room. As we reached the room, I felt that something was wrong. I put my ear to the door. I heard struggling.
"Yana, we may have trouble. I want you to get out of the way if there is." Yana nodded her head. On the count of three, I would open the door. 1... 2...
Clunk! I swerved around, seeing Yana on the floor. There above her was Toola. Behind her, was the guy I ran into at the marketplace.
"Not quick enough Jedi. Not quick enough." Toola smiled. She pointed a blaster at me.
"No, this one is mine." The man stood in front of Toola. "You finish off the girl." The man, then, took out a lightsaber. "Shall we?" He turned on his lightsaber, a bright white light coming out of the top. I took my own lightsaber, igniting it.
The man attacked viciously. I dodged his move, waiting for him to attack again. He turned towards me.
"You ruined my plans, you stupid Jedi." He attacked. I blocked his move, then jumped back. I felt the Force around me. I had to get in tuned with it, or I had no chance to win. I had let go of my anger that I had against this man and Toola. Suddenly, the Force entered me. It flowed within me, around me. I could feel the Dark ripples of the Force around this man.
The Force showed me that he was going to attack on my right, so I dodged his move, and pushed him back with a mighty force.
"You're a little rusty, since you are getting beat by a 13 year old." I smiled, I knew that would make him angrier and more clouded than he already was. He raised his lightsaber in anger, ready to bring it down, but I already expected that. I rolled out of the way and raised my lightsaber. I tried to strike him, but he blocked.
He was making me go towards a hallway. He's trying to get me lost, I thought. It won't be that easy. I flipped over the man, heading towards where Yana and Toola were.
"Stupid girl. You should never befriend a total stranger. Now, you are going to have to pay for that." Toola raised her blaster, so that it was level with Yana's heart. Suddenly, Yana kicked her leg up, knocking Toola's blaster out of her hand. Toola, shocked, stood there for a few seconds. Yana stood up, facing Toola.
"We'll just see who has to pay for what." Toola raced for the blaster, but Yana caught her arm and threw her the other way. As Toola went spinning the wrong way, Yana ran to the blaster, picked it up, and pointed the blaster at the dazed Toola. Toola stood her ground. Yana looked around for any sort of help. Then, she saw a chandelier hanging over Toola and herself.
"Fine, you won. Just shoot me. Get it over with," Toola looked at Yana with such hatred. She stood up straight, getting ready for the sound of a blaster shooting.
"No, I'm not as evil as you." Just then, Yana pointed up, shot a cord holding the chandelier up, and jumped out of the way. The huge chandelier barely missed Yana. Toola stood there, screaming, until the chandelier hit the ground. Yana laid on the floor, by the mess she had caused.
The man charged toward me, lightsaber pointed at me. I easily dodged the move, and started heading towards our room. The man's white blade slammed down on mine, inches away from my face.
As we fought, I noticed the door of our room with a fallen chandelier in front of it. I saw Yana on the floor by the chandelier, but I dared not go over there. Suddenly, the door to our cabin opened. It was Qui-Gon.
I realized the man could see Qui-Gon too, so I forced the man to turn, so his back was to Qui-Gon. The man fought viciously, seeing his chance to escape very small. He raised his lightsaber over his head. This time, instead of dodging, I blocked. We held that moment for a very long time. As his lightsaber was still over his head, where I had stopped it, a look of horror was on the man's face. I stared down, seeing a green blade sticking out of his stomach, inches away from my own body. As the green blade left the man's body, I put down my lightsaber, letting the man fall to the ground. In front of me was Qui-Gon.
"You fought very well, Obi-Wan" Qui-Gon smiled at me. "Now we must turn our attention to this." He pointed to the fallen chandelier, where a weak Yana was standing up.
"Toola's under there. I don't think she's dead. I only think she was knocked out." Qui-Gon and I headed towards the chandelier. All three of us lifted the chandelier and, like Yana said, Toola was only knocked out. She had a few cuts and bruises, so we decided to take her to sick bay.
"First, we must tell King Tombare that we caught the thieves. With that, Qui-Gon picked Toola up and headed down the stairs that lead downstairs.
After we traveled through hallways, stairs, rooms, and many other places, we arrived at the dining hall where King Tombare was eating. When he saw Qui-Gon carrying Toola, he stood up and raced towards us. Before he could speak, though, Qui-Gon cut in.
"There is a lot we have to tell you. Some of it, only some of us know. We know who the thief is." So, Qui-Gon explained all that knew, then gave it to Yana and I. Once we were done, we waited for an answer. It took King Tombare a while to get over the fact that his servant would lie and steal from him.
"I just can't believe that Toola would deceive me like that. I mean, I usually paid her well. She even had the best servant room. That is a very nice room, I might add. Well, we must get her bandaged up. Let me lead." King Tombare led us to the sick bay. There we left Toola and went to go speak with King Tombare on when we would leave.
"You can stay here for the night. Then, I will arrange a ride for you to your ship. Thank-you Master Jinn, Obi-Wan, and Yana Tarseb. We are ever so grateful for saving our planet." Then, King Tombare shook all three of our hands. He called another of his servants to show us our rooms, then left.
When we reached Qui-Gon, I had to talk with him. I didn't forget that Yana wanted me to talk to him.
"Yes, Obi-Wan?" He sat down in a chair that was in our room. Yana wasn't there. She was talking to King Tombare about something.
"Yana wanted me to ask you if it would be o.k. if she went to Coruscant and stayed there. She doesn't want to go back to Lumanar. Would it be o.k. if we took her with us?" Qui-Gon sat there, thinking about my question. After a while, he spoke.
"I see no reason why she can not come with us. She will have to find a place to live, first. We can help her find one. Now, go find her and tell her."
"Thank-you Qui-Gon." I bowed to Qui-Gon, then left. I had no clue where to start, when suddenly Yana ran up to me.
"So, what did Qui-Gon say?" She looked very anxious to hear where she would be living. I would be too.
"He said that he sees no problem if you came with us. Only that you would have to find a house, first." I frowned. "I don't think you can find a house before we get there. We are going there immediately. I don't see how that is possible."
"Oh that's great! Don't worry about the house. That's why I was talking to King Tombare. We called some people, and he found a nice place for me to live. It's not that far from the Jedi Temple, either." She winked at me. "When you go there, we can meet and talk. I know you have a lot of missions you have to go to and I don't think it would be good if you dragged me along. At least I would have a good home. So everything is settled, right?"
"Right." I was amazed on how she had all of this figured out. "Let's go to bed now." We both headed towards the room, went through the door, went to our beds, and laid down.
"Good-night." We all said at the same time.
DISCLAIMER: Sadly, I don't own the people Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan(why can't I own him? Can I rent him for a life-time?) or anyother character that is mentioned. I don't own the Star Wars universe. That is owned by George Lucas(he's soooo lucky...)
