Fall into the shadows...

Prologue:
Ok, in this story, Obi-Wan fell in love and married another Jedi, Talia Meru. This happened 3 years before TPM. About a year before the Phantom Menace, they had a child, Hayley. All of the events of TPM are the same. Hayley was accepted for Jedi training, and 12 years after her birth, Hayley and her family are once again facing danger in the eye...

Chapter 1:
Hayley walked down the hall after the day's lessons. She made her way back to her family's quarters, wondering who would be there. Her family was always on the move: her dad gone with his Padawan on a mission; her mother off teaching, her brothers gone to their lessons. It was always a surprise to see who would be there. She walked into the main room, surprised to see only her mother there. "Hello mother." she said.

Her mother looked up from what she was doing, and said, "Hello Hayley, how was your day?"

Hayley pushed her brown hair out of her eyes and thought for a moment before answering. "It was very good, actually. I think that Jedi Master Ke'Li'Mati might be considering me as his Padawan!"

Her mother smiled at her. "That's great Hayley. I know that you've been trying very hard to impress him. You deserve it."

Hayley stood there for a moment, soaking in the compliment. She then asked, "Where are Dad and Anakin?"

"Off! on another mission. They'll be back soon." answered her mother.

"Oh." replied Hayley. "Hey, where are Jayden and Raimi? Shouldn't they be back by now?"

Talia smiled at her daughter's worried face. "They're gone off on a day trip with Masters Yoda and Windu. Do not trouble yourself so much, daughter."

Talia went back to her work. Hayley then walked to her room and was putting away her robes went she suddenly felt a disturbance in the force. She quickly ran back to the main room to find her mother jumping out of the window and onto the ledge. Hayley quickly followed.

-Mother, what's wrong? asked Hayley telepathicaly.

-That transport is in danger! I can feel it! Talia pointed to a transport about to land on an adjanctant pad to the Temple. Quickly, mother and daughter lept to the nearby pad, and quickly ran over to the now landed ship. They ran to the hatch, opened and yelled inside.

"Everyone get out!!! Now!!!" Hayley and Talia ran inside to help the assorted passengers off the ship.

"Quickly!" yelled Talia. The two women felt with the force to sense if anyone else was still inside, then they both ran back. They were only fifty feet away when an explosion rocked the ship. Talia and Hayley were thrown to the ground. A few moments later, Talia quickly got up and brushed herself off. "Is everyone alright?" She quickly moved to help the injured passengers. Hayley, still sitting and facing the were the ship used to be, noticed a hooded figure moving away.

"Hey, you!!" she called. But he had disapeared.

"Hayley, come and help!" called Talia.

Hayley responded a quick "Coming!", but not before pondering who that hooded figure had been and what he had to do with the explosion. Chapter 2:
Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker stood in front of the council. They had just debriefed the Jedi Masters of the results of their last misson.

"You are sure of this then?" asked Master Windu.

"I am certain." answered Obi-Wan, "Our assilant on Dantooine was a Sith."

The council remained silent for a time. Yoda then spoke. "Grave news this is. Returned, the Sith have. Danger this poses to the Republic."

The council then went silent again. No one spoke. Finally, Master Windu broke the silence by saying," Thank you for this news. The council will discuss this and decide how to proceed. You are both dismissed."

Obi-Wan and Anakin both bowed then turned back to the turbolift. Once out of the turbolift and walking back to their rooms, Anakin truned to Obi-Wan and asked, "Why were we dismissed? Shouldn't we be doing something about this?"

Obi-Wan smiled at his anxious Padawan. "Anakin," said Obi-Wan, "It is not our buisness to decide what the council does. If we could, then we would be on the council ourselves."

"Oh." replied Anakin. Obi-Wan grinned at his dejected Padawan.

"Come now Anakin, I have a feeling that some people want to see us." Anakin smiled and walked just a little faster. He had not seen Obi-Wan's family in a while, and he was anxious to see Talia, Hayley and the twins again. But Anakin could tell by the expression on his Master's face that Obi-Wan was even more excited then him.

Chapter 3
The door chimed loudly in the Kenobis' quiet home.

"I'll get it." said Hayley as she crossed the living room to the door.

"Dad!!!" she yelled as she saw the familiar faces behind the door, "And Anakin!!!" Hayley quickly hugged both of them. "Mom! Jayden! Raimi! Dad and Ankin are here!" Talia came out of the main room just as the twins came running out of their bedrooms.

"Oof!" cried Obi-Wan as he was crushed by his sons. Talia laughed at the sound, then turned to say hello to Anakin.

"Hello Talia" said Anakin. He was then interupted by Raimi tackling him. Raimi erupted in giggles as Anakin chased him across the room. Obi-Wan smiled, then turned to his wife.

-I missed you. Obi-Wan thought telepathically to his wife.

-And I, you. replied Talia. She moved foward to kiss him. Their lips met, then parted. They both smiled, then moved off to play with the children. Chapter 4
"How touching." mumbled the cloaked figure from his vantage point of the Kenobis' reunion. The figure closed the blinds on his window to block the view. He suddenly felt anger, anger that he had had no such happiness when he was young. And they would pay for it. He laughed menacinly to himslef, thinking that soon, their next reunion would be off a more morbid kind.

Chapter 5
Hayley lay awake in bed, thinking about the past few days. Specifically, she was thinking about the hooded figure that she had saw the day that the transport had exploded. Had he been the cause of the explosion? Or had he been one of the passengers? Maybe he had had nothing to do with anything. Hayley sighed. "Don't worry about it." she told herself. She turned over and went back to bed.

The next morning, Hayley woke up to a sudden wave in the force. She bolted out of bed, immediately alert. She ran into the family room just as her mother and father came running out. "Where are the boys?" cried out Talia. They all rushed into the boys' room to find the beds empty and the window broken. Talia, Obi-Wan and Hayley all ran to the window and jumped out onto the terrace two floors down. They then looked around to see if they could find any trace of the intruder. There was no one. "Gone." whispered Talia as she buried her face in her hands. Obi-Wan wraped his arms around her as she quietly sobbed into his shoulder.

Chapter 6
Raimi was semiconscious in a dark, damp room. He remembered vaguely that he was stuck here, but why still evaded his thoughts. He lay on his side, his cheek resting agaonst the cold stone of the floor. He had hazy memories of intense pain before arriving here. "Where is here?" he thought to himself. He tried to raise himself off the floor, but it proved to be too much of an exertion to his battered muscles. He decided to go back to sleep, where the pain wouldn't follow him.

Jayden felt the slap of the cloaked figure resound throughtout his body. Pain errupted all over, causing Jayden to double over in pain. He felt the blood run off his chin from where the figure had whipped him. " Had enough yet?" growled the man. Jayden tried to get back up, because if he were to die, he would do it on his feet. His knees couldn't take it, and he collapsed into a heap on the floor. He had a blissful 5 seconds of rest, then the man came and kicked him in the side so hard that Jayden could feel the bile rising up his throat. But, as much as the man beat him, he would not show defeat or anger. Jayden was almost certain that that was what the man wanted. He could sense the anger flowing from this man in huge waves. It made Jayden sick. The man kicked Jayden once more before, he too, passed into oblivion like his brother...

Chapter 7
Obi-Wan and Talia stood in front of the council. "I ask permission to find my sons." pleaded Talia. "That is all I want, and I fell that they are in grave danger and pain."

Mace Windu spoke next, "We feel this as well. The children are in grave danger. We think that their kidnapper might have something to do with the Sith on Dantooine. We will allow you to go, permitting that you take Anakin as well."

Talia sighed with relief as Obi-Wan spoke, "Thank you. We will find the Sith, I promise." The couple then bowed and left the chambers. "We'll leave in the morning." said Obi-Wan.

"What about Hayley?" asked Talia.

Obi-Wan sighed, then spoke, "She will have to stay here. As much as she wants to come, she has classes to attend. I do not want her in harm's way as well."

Talia looked at her husband straight in the eye and said, "You know she will not stay. She is as rebellious as a Jedi I once knew."

Obi-Wan stopped walking and face his wife. "I know, but that was when I didn't have a family to care for. I don't want to take the chance that Hayley will be hurt too. I feel as if I am a bad father."

Talia saw a great sadness in her husband's eyes. Talia leaned over and kissed him on the cheek. "You are a wonderful father, husband, Jedi Knight and teacher. Just look into the eyes of your loved ones, and you will see what i see." She grabbed his hand, and together they walked back to their room.

Chapter 8
Jayden was thrown to the floor violently, jolting him out of his semiconscious state. "I'll be back for you later." said the man. The door to the cell slammed shut, eliminating almost all light, except for a small window, about 12 feet up the farthest wall. Jayden lay on the floor a few moments, then dragged himself up. He noticed his brother lying on the floor a few feet away. Jayden lurched over on his battered legs, kneeling down by his brother. "Raimi? Raimi?" asked Jayden. He gently prodded his brother and tried to feel his brother's presence in the force. He found it, but it was very weak. Jayden picked up his brother's head and cradled it in his lap. "Hold on brother, hold on." he whispered.

Raimi awoke to hear his brother's soft crying. "Jayden?" croaked Raimi. He watched as an expression of relief crossed his brother's face.

"You're awake!" exclaimed Jayden, "I was beginning to worry that you would never wake up."

Raimi slowly sat up. He noticed all of Jayden's bruises and abrasions. "Are you alright?" asked Raimi.

"I'll be fine. Now we just have to figure out how..." Jayden was interrupted by the sound of a key in the door. "Quick!" hissed Jayden, "Pretend to be unconscious!" The boys fell back down onto the floor just as the door opened...
