Tailyn sat on the floor of her cramped cabin. The air was stale, and the stench of the past occupants hung in the room like a cloak. She tried to meditate, but she had too many wayward thoughts running through her mind. Her legs were crossed and her hands were at her side while her head faced forward with her eyes closed. She thought to herself,"I'm actually going on a mission! With my new Master!" With that thought, she opened her eyes and stood up. She changed out of her sleeping robes and dressed herself in her new Padawan robes. She quickly crossed the hall between her room and her Master's. She pressed the door chime. A muffled voice from within answered, "Who is it?" Tailyn responded that it was her.
"Come in then!" The door opened to reveal a tall, lithe woman. She had shoulder length brown hair, and the bluest eyes Tailyn had ever seen. She had a perk nose, and the most infectious smile. Jedi Master Leiel Kali was one of the most kindest people Tailyn had ever known in her 13 years. "Good morning, Padawan. I trust that you slept well?" asked Leiel.
"Reasonably, except for the stench in my room." answered Tailyn with a smile, "You?"
"I slept well too, but my room was very cold." replied the Master.
"So what's on the agenda today?" asked Tailyn.
"Well, after the ship lands on Tatooine, we'll rendezvous with another Jedi. We're supposed to aid him in guarding the child. It's imperative that Vader does not find him."
On Tatooine...
Obi-Wan still hadn't adjusted to the heat. He had been on Tatooine for a month now, watching over Luke, but the heat still bothered him. He stood waiting in the some what cooling shade of the landing bay, waiting for the other Jedi to arrive. He longed for the companionship. He lived out in the desert, watching from afar his former Padawan's son grow up. Obi-Wan felt sorry for the boy, never knowing his true parents. Not that Owen and Beru were bad parents, but Obi-Wan wished that Anakin was here to see his son grow up. Obi-Wan sighed. It was too late for that now. He looked up to see the transport preparing to land. He moved forward, removing his hood as he walked forward. He watched as the different passengers disembarked. He then spotted two women wearing robes get off the ship. He moved towards them with a smile on his face. "Hello, I'm Obi-Wan Kenobi. And you must be Leiel Kali."
Leiel nodded the affirmative. "This is my Padawan, Tailyn Aki."
Tailyn bowed in the the direction of Obi-Wan. "I'm honored to meet you, sir."
Obi-wan only smiled back at the girl. "Well, we better be on our way. I'll show you to my speeder." The three of them walked off, not noticing the figure standing behind the parked ship, shadowing their every move...
