Story -- Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade are getting married. If this is a spoiler for you, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?! Build-up to the wedding; breaking the news of the engagement, choosing a dress, pre-wedding parties, etc., and a bunch of Imperial bad guys hell-bent on disrupting the Big Day itself!
Artwork -- pretty good, although I'm not convinced about DHC's claim of 'photo-realism'. Characters don't always look exactly like the actors, but there are still some nice 'portrait shots' and some of the action scenes and pics of technology are terrific. And play a new Star Wars game - spot the famous actor (eg. Kam Solusar is a dead ringer for Bruce Willis!)
Chicks -- I like! No hanging around the florists for Mara, Leia, Mirax, Winter, Iella & Tionne. Oh, no - the boys aren't the only ones who know how to have a good time. And the baddies have a cool female character in their group.
Any good? -- Hmm, not bad. Lots of mushy stuff (obviously); a little overdone for me. One or two nice 'action' bits. And it was great to 'see' up-to-date versions of our favorite characters from the novels. BUT there was an awful lot of philosophizing on marriage, relationships, etc. which made it drag a little. And the whole wedding thng was very, very 'Western' - white dress, flowers, rings, etc. Made me feel like I was in North America, not in a galaxy far, far away.
Read it? -- if you're a Luke & Mara fan, a hopeless romantic, or both - it's compulsory! Everybody else - I'm not so sure you'll enjoy this one.
Rating -- 6 out of 10
