Book 6 - 'Iron Fist' by Aaron Allston   Bantam Press 1998   Set 3.5 - 4 years after RotJ

Original characters from the movies -- Han isn't in this book much, but when he does show up, it's nice. This is set before 'Courtship' when Leia's off visiting the Hapans.

New characters -- 4 new pilots since the last novel (3 of them female). These dramatis personae lists at the beginning of each book are a great idea.
 
Cover art -- TIE fighters and interceptors, a shuttle and some explosions. Nice artwork.

Chicks -- no Leia. Now up to four female pilots, none of them officers. Shalla is an unarmed combat expert (always like to see a chick throw men about), Dia (Twi'lek ex-slave and vehicle expert), Lara Notsil (whose side is she on?).

Any good? -- plot-wise, there's still some undercover missions, but also more flying in space than in the last book. Good characterisations and quite a bit of humor (relatively speaking).

Read it? -- if you read book 5 and you plan on reading book 7, then I would have to say yes.
