Story -- Thrawn now has the ships (the Katana fleet) and the manpower (clones) to launch a major offensive against the New Republic - is this the end for our heroes? Are we about to witness another round of the Clone Wars? (And Leia's twins finally put in an appearance.)

Original characters from the movies -- see volumes one and two. They're still great.

New characters -- Thrawn is excellent. Karrde is (reluctantly) getting more involved in the war. And Mara still wants to kill Luke. Rogue Squadron strut their stuff.
 
Cover art -- awful. Ignore the cover, just read the words.

Chicks -- Leia, Mara, Winter, Mon Mothma. And one or two minor characters developed in Zahn's later books.

Any good? -- rounds off the trilogy perfectly. Edge-of-your-seat type of book. Loved it.

Read it? -- oh, yes! Zahn spins an excellent story.
