Story -- the Hutts are building a superweapon - the superlaser from the Death Star. Daala is in league with Pellaeon and they're up to no good. Luke is trying to help Callista get back her Force powers. And Wedge is still in love...

Original characters from the movies -- slightly pathetic, for the most part. Luke has absolutely no luck with women. And speaking of the movies, we trundle back to Hoth in this book. Nice to see the old place again.

New characters -- Durga the Hutt (I didn't even find Jabba all that scary - this guy stands no chance). I felt a bit sorry for his entourage. Callista is REALLY wet, relying on Luke a lot and pining for her Force ability.

Cover art -- pretty colours!

Chicks -- Daala's still incompetent (but a bit better than last time). Callista's real irritating now. Mara appears briefly - there's a cool scene with her and Callie at the Academy.

Any good? -- better than the 'Jedi Academy' trilogy, but I wish he'd made more out of Daala. And did Callie have to be sooooooo wet? And does he have to drag the Death Star into everything?

Read it? -- Yes, but don't get too excited.

Rating -- 6 out of 10
