Story -- Thrawn is deadly serious about resurrecting the Empire, and with the help of C'baoth and the contents of Mount Tantiss, it's looking increasingly likely that he might succeed. It doesn't help that Borsk Fey'lya is trying to oust Admiral Ackbar by accusing him of treason. Leia comes up with a way of getting the Noghri off her back, but it's dangerous. And there's a race to get hold of the 'Dark Force', a fleet of 200-odd Heavy Cruisers floating about in the middle of nowhere - whoever gets the fleet could well win the war.

Original characters from the movies -- still really well written. Wedge's and Ackbar's characterisations expanded.

New characters -- lots more about the characters we met in volume one.

Cover art -- ick! I've seen better fan art.

Chicks -- Leia doin' her stuff! And learn more about Mara Jade.

Any good? -- kinda felt like a bridge between volumes one and three (ie. not as much happens), but still a great read.

Read it? -- of course. Silly question.

Rating -- 8 out of 10
