Story -- Daala is down to one Star Destroyer, but is still managing to wreak havoc. Kyp Durron is under Exar Kun's thrall and has the Sun Crusher; not a good combination. Luke's body lies in state at the academy while he fights for his life on the spirit plane. Han goes after Kyp, while Lando has a crush on Mara (does the man have a death-wish?).

Original characters from the movies -- better than in the previous volumes. And Chewie gets more to do.

New characters -- Winter is brilliant, defending baby Anakin from the Imperials. Mara is still wearing the tight-fitting jumpsuits. Daala and Qwi are still around.

Cover art -- dunno why, but this one appealed to me more.

Chicks -- Leia (defending her family - you go, girl!), Winter (cool!), Mara (feels 'out of character' to me), Qwi (get a life!), Daala (get another career!).

Any good? -- best of the three books, although I feel the whole trilogy could have been squeezed into one, or at best two, books.

Read it? -- if you've read the other two, then yes. It gets better.

Rating -- 5 out of 10
