Movie characters -- Qui still comes off as a bit stand-offish, and Obi is feeling a bit depressed as he finds it hard to please his new Master.
New characters -- Guerra's back from book 2 ("Not so, I lie!"
- one of the funniest, if slightly over-done, lines in the SW galaxy) and
he's in trouble. Introduction of Paxxi, Guerra's brother, and various other
relatives. The Baddies are also Phindian - Baftu and Terra. I wish the
books were a bit longer, as I feel characterisation suffers.
Cover art -- is that the same boy they used for the cover of
JA1? Not sure, but still a passable Obi-Wan. And Qui-Gon is doing that
'enigmatic' look.
Chicks -- Terra (bad Phindian! But could have been worse...); Duenna (good Phindian! Nice lady!)
Any good? -- a bit better written than JA2, not so stilted. And we get to visit Phindar, Guerra's home planet. There's also a nice action scene with the Jedi. Warning - something 'not so nice' happens to Obi (not 'blood and gore', but made me want to cry!).
Read it? -- not 'jump up and down, rush out and buy this book', but still worth a look.
Rating -- 6 out of 10 (as a kid's book)
