Movie characters -- Qui and Obi are back to being a 'normal' Master and Padawan.
New characters -- King Frane (weird, power-hungry, mood swings - get the picture?); his eldest son, Leed (s'okay, I guess); his younger son, Taroon (very much the 'angry young man'); and a few other newbies.
Cover art -- Obi and an alien. Nice, if you like lilac.
Chicks -- Drenna (a Senali chick) - I just didn't click with her. Yaana (a 10-year-old from Rutan) - not mentioned enough for a decent characterisation.
Any good? -- yet more on Jedi training (which I like) and some very interesting social theories (read and learn, kiddies!), as well as some nice action bits. BUT - plot holes you could drive a bantha through - eg. how come Obi and Qui go unnoticed on a planet full of aliens with no discernible effort on their part? And I saw the ending coming a mile off.
Read it? -- you could get away with missing this one, if you have to.
Rating -- 6 out of 10 (as a kid's book)
