It was so different from the movies and introduced me to new characters. Since then I have been hooked. I have read/collected most of the books. I just finished Outcast by Aaron Allston. My first SW book was "Star Wars", which of course we now call "A New Hope!" I was 12 (in 1982), and used it to help me type out the entire script for the movie - which I still have!! ;-) After a looong absence, my first book back to the SW universe was "The Courtship of Princess Leia." LOTF is a grrrrreaaat series - very well-written! I admire the way the four authors collaborated, yet brought their own personal "flavor" and expertise to each book. I just finished reading "Wild Space", which was a very good addition to the Clone Wars era, IMO. I still have "Millennuim Falcon" and "Republic Commando" sitting on my shelf...as soon as I get over my current "Twilight" obsession, it's back to SW :-) Great post!
